Fractal Geometry is a current research project at the laboratory
for timber construction (IBOIS): An interdisciplinary group of researchers
seeks for applications of the fractal geometry in the field of construction. In
the last few years, fractal geometry has let to concrete applications in
different domains such as virtual imagery (landscape, water, skies) and
different technologies (fractal antennas, image compression). The task of the
research team (mathematician, civil engineer, programmer and an architect)
is to find out weather this new branch of mathematics will conduct to
a change of paradigm in the field of construction.
